A story to let you all know where this all started. hope this fills in some time until we get some snow...
For all you motor heads and speed freaks this should be just what the Dr ordered.

All my friends and acquaintances who know even a little about me know I love speed...
Nitrous on the snowmobile, Nitrous in my car, the bike has extensive mods. I think its my love to make something into more than it was designed. and my ability to do it myself. I have extensive experience with automotive and marine engines and drives.
So having all these fast toys, everyone kept wondering why didn't I get a boat and do something with it? My original dream was to buy a cat and build it, when the time did come.
Well last year I was looking thru the repos and auction sheets to get some more inventory for the marina to sell. I stumbled across a 29' Kryptonite with 57 hours on it, normally that would not be a big deal but having intimate knowledge of the hull and building one for a customer 3 years ago that runs a very safe 104mph. I looked closer. made a few phone calls and before you know it I was driving to Alabama to get it. Not a cat but a proven race hull. they were made in NY in a very limited production as a race boat I would guess 6-12 a year for a few years.
So I get it back to the marina, do some testing and find out it is just dangerous and out of control over 85mph. I do some research and find the Dr who owned it was afraid of it.  Building one I knew they stabile, finding the issue took some time. After a complete transom reglass job and raising the drive 2" installing a different style prop, I got it to 90 and rock solid. I drove it for another 30 hours and tweaked the hull and setup to perfection.

Now the good stuff. my winter project....
I ordered a Merlin !!! block, Calais crank and rods, and Ross custom pistons. Which will get me a 572ci motor.
I have the Airflow Research 357 heads on order, The M5 Procharger and intercooler has arrived, that's the largest Procharger makes....
The accel Direct Fuel Injection is on its way.    the cam is a custom grind slid lifter setup.
My goal is an easy 1000 hp on 91 octane and more on race fuel. I am going to assemble the motor and take it to Saris Racing Engines in Lake George to get it dialed in on the dyno. when I get back it will be broke in all I will have to do is drop it in the racer and run it.
The one I built last has about 875 hp and runs 104. My set up is faster with the Hp I expect 110-115 on pump gas with 10psi boost. I wil make sure its stabile there then make a few runs with 15 psi boost and race fuel just to say it runs?Huh 120?? Thing.. 115 will be the fastest boat on the lake by a comfortable margin....

If you guys are interested I will post more as I get more parts together and some dyno runs.

I attached a picture for you...this was the last run with the old engine (510ci)  Oct 24th 2009
